CHAIR OF ORTHODOX THEOLOGY The Archbishop
lakovos Chair of Orthodox Theology is an endowed chair at Holy
Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology granted to a senior tenured
faculty member in any of the several fields of theology. The chair was
established in May of 1986 and serves two purposes. The first is to
honor His Eminence Archbishop lakovos and his magnificent archiepiscopal
legacy in the Americas and the world. The other is to promote Orthodox
theology, the scholarly projection of Holy Cross, as well as the ecumenical
witness of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese. The first holder was Rev.
Dr. Stanley S. Harakas, now retired Professor emeritus of Christian
Ethics. The present holder is Rev. Dr. Theodore G. Stylianopoulos, Professor
of New Testament. |
